Our Faith
The Scriptures
The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It gives
a true account of the creation and contains the correct prophecy of the ages
to come regarding heaven, earth, and the destiny of
humanity. Likewise, it serves as the guidance on
Christian living and as the definitive authority
given to church by the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Godhead
Our God is one (Deuteronomy 6:4).
Desiring to reconcile the world unto Himself, God
was supernaturally manifested in the flesh and
became sin for us so that we might be saved (1
Timothy 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:21). After the
death of Christ at Calvary, He begin to pour out His
Holy Spirit (Acts 2:16-18, 33) and is very
much active in our lives today as our guide to the
fullness of truth (John 16:13).
The Father
God is our Father in parental relationship
through creation (1 Chronicles 29:10); it was
He who created heaven and earth, and He who created
man from the dust of the earth by breathing into him
a living soul (Genesis 1:1; 2:7). He
shall continue to be God our Father through eternity and
we shall reign with Him as His people in the life that is to
follow (2 Corinthians 6:16).
The Son
As a means to establish a direct relationship between
Himself and the world, God became flesh and walked
among us. When He was seen, He revealed
Himself as Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God to
redeem us from our sins (Matthew 1:21; John 1:14,
3:16-17). As a human man, the entirety of
God's deity was in Him (Colossians 2:9) and
His blood at Calvary paid the ultimate price for His
church (Acts 20:28).
The Holy Spirit
The very essence of God is His Holy Spirit
(John 4:24). His Spirit is eternal and was
present from the beginning of creation and is being
poured out among all peoples in unprecedented
proportions as had been foretold (Genesis 1:2;
Joel 2:28-29). He is our Lord who is very
much active in the lives of born-again believers today,
creating an environment of liberty and power to meet
a need and give wisdom for the way (2 Corinthians
3:17; John 16:13).
Man - his fall and redemption
Man is a created being, made in the likeness and
the image of God, but through Adam's transgression
and fall, sin came into the world (Romans 3:23;
Romans 3:10). Jesus Christ was manifested to
undo the works of the enemy and to give His life and
shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God
(1 John 3:8). Salvation comes by grace
through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of
Jesus Christ (Romans 3:23-25, 6:23; Ephesians
2:8-9).
Eternal Life & New Birth
Man's first step toward salvation is godly sorrow
that works repentance. The new birth is
necessary to all men, and when fulfilled, it
produces eternal life (John 3:3-5, 2 Corinthians
7:10, I John 5:12). The saving Gospel is
this Good News: Jesus Christ died for our sins, was
buried, and rose again. Therefore our identification
to the gospel
(2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17) is
through
repentance (death to sin), water baptism (burial),
and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection)
(1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans
6:3-4).
Water Baptism
Baptism in water by immersion in the Name of
Jesus is a direct commandment of our Lord and is for
whosoever believes and embraces the promise of God.
The ordinance (Matthew 28:19) is a symbol of
the believer's identification with Christ (Acts
2:38-39) in His death, burial, and resurrection
(Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21).
Spiritual Baptism
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire is a gift
from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ
(Matthew 3:11) to all believers in this
dispensation and is received subsequent to
repentance. This experience is accompanied by the
evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy
Spirit Himself gives utterance (Acts 2:38-39,
19:1-7).
Sanctification
The Bible teaches that without holiness no man
can see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). We
believe in the doctrine of sanctification as a
definite yet progressive work of grace both inwardly
and outwardly (2 Peter 3:18), commencing at
the time of regeneration and continuing until the
consummation of salvation (1 Thessalonians 5:23;
1 Corinthians 1:30).
Diving Healing
Healing is a gift of the Holy Spirit and is very
much active and applicable in this present day. It
is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of
faith and by the laying on of hands and was made
possible in the atonement of Christ (Isaiah
53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16; 1
Peter 2:24).
Future Events
The angels said, "This same Jesus. shall so
come in like manner." (Acts 1:11). His
coming is on the horizon and when He comes, ". the
dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are
alive and remain shall be caught up together with
them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air."
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). In the end will be the final
resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous
will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous
eternal death (Revelation 20:11-15).
